2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup

The 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup (English: 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup) and the 18th FIBA Basketball World Cup (the second World Cup after the World Men's Basketball Championship was renamed the Basketball World Cup) will be held on August 31, 2019 Until September 15th, it will be held in eight cities in Beijing, Guangzhou, Nanjing, Shanghai, Wuhan, Shenzhen, Foshan and Dongguan of China. On the evening of August 30, 2019, the opening ceremony of the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup was held at the Beijing National Swimming Center, and Chinese President Xi Jinping attended the opening ceremony.


On December 11, 2014, the FIBA announced six candidate countries for the 2019 Basketball World Cup: China, Germany (independent or in conjunction with France), Qatar, the Philippines, and Turkey.


From February 28 to March 6, 2015, eight Chinese joint bid cities Beijing, Nanjing, Suzhou, Wuhan, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan, and Dongguan were inspected by the FIBA delegation.


On March 16, 2015, the FIBA Executive Committee met and confirmed that the venue of the 2019 Men's Basketball World Cup will be chosen between China and the Philippines.


On August 8, 2015, the opening ceremony of the 2019 Basketball World Cup host country was held in Tokyo, Japan. China defeated the Philippines with 14: 7 votes and won the right to host the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup.

 


From August 31 to September 15, 2019, the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup will be held in eight cities in China: Beijing, Guangzhou, Nanjing, Shanghai, Wuhan, Shenzhen, Foshan, and Dongguan. According to the authorization of the FIBA, China Central Radio and Television has the exclusive rights to broadcast the basketball World Cup matches in mainland China. The radio and television channels produced and broadcasted by our station are protected by law.
